Eight

I woke up and sighed. Kris was already up, and doing something. I got up and walked out to the kitchen. "Mourning."
I smiled, "Mourning."
"When are you leaving?" he asked me.
"Whenever you drive me home."
"I'll drop you off on my way to the rink."
"Okay."

Kris ate and got ready and we left. He drove me home.
"See you at lunch." he said.
"Bye, see you."
"Bye."
He said and kissed my cheek.

I went upstairs and changed and got ready for Chris. My phone started ringing.
"Hello?"
"Hey." Chris said.
"Oh. Hey, Chris."
"I'm almost at your house."
"Okay, I'll see you soon."
"Okay, bye."

I walked downstairs and saw Chris pull in. I got in the car and went to breakfast.
"So, I have some news." he said.
"Oh. What is it?"
"I'm moving."
"Oh."
"Guess where I'm moving to."
"I don't know. Where?"
"Here."
"Here?"
"Yeah."
"Chris that's great!"
"I know!"

"So, how have you been?" he asked me.
"Pretty good. My dad and I's relationship is getting back to where it was. I've met some.. interesting new friends here. And, I'm actually kinda getting into hockey."
"Wow! Who's the interesting friends?"
"Well, Max Talbot. He's like my best friend."
"I thought I was your best friend."
"You are one of them."
"Awe. I'm being replaced."
I laughed. "No your not."

"Yeah, whatever. So, have a boyfriend?"
"Yes. Actually, I do." I said smiling.
"Really! Who?"
I laughed. "Kris."
"Kris who?" he said slightly laughing.
"Letang."
"No way! He's a good player."
"Yeah," I said smiling. "I guess he's okay."

"So, do you have a girlfriend?"
"No. I'm the same single me."
I laughed. "You need a girl."
"I had one, but blew it." he said seriously.
"Chris, don't start this shit."
"I know," he sighed "I'm sorry."

"So, Chris. Want to come to the game with me tomorrow?"
"Seriously?"
"Yeah. It can get kinda boring without a friend with me."
"Of coarse I will go!"
I laughed. "Good."
We left shortly.

"Hey, I'll see you tomorrow." I said when we got to my house.
"Okay. Bye."
"Bye."

"Hey, dad." I said when I sat down next to him on the couch.
"Yeah?"
"I'm not going to sit in the box tomorrow."
"Oh, okay. Why not?"
"Chris is coming. And, I kinda want to see what it's like to be with the fans."
"Oh, is this the Chris from San Antonio, right?"
"Yeah, he's moving here."
"Oh, that's good. I'll have to meet him sometime."
"Yeah. That would be good. Maybe tomorrow at the game."
"Yeah, just stop by the locker room before the game with him."
"Sounds good."

I hung out with my dad for a while before Kris came to pick me up.
"Hey." he said when I got in. "How was breakfast?"
"Good. Chris is moving to Pittsburgh soon."
"Oh." is all he said.

We both decided earlier that we would go to his house for a bit before going to lunch.
I kept talking about lunch and Kris barely said anything. Something was wrong. When we got into his house I pushed him up against the wall.
"Okay, what's wrong?"
"Nothing." he said and and got out of my grasp and walked into the living room.
"Kris! There is something wrong. Tell me!" I said getting a little mad.
"Why do you have to hang out with Chris?"

Now I was mad. "Because he's my friend, Kris! My best friend! He's been around long before you. I'm not just going to give him up, because you walked into my life!"
"You seem really comfortable with him."
"I am! We have known each other for years. And, went out before."
"That's the problem."

"What? That I went out with him?"
"Yes. He wants to get back together with you doesn't he?"
I sighed. "Yes, Kris. But, he. He is just my friend. I realized that when we went out. I'm not going to leave you for him. Trust me. What he and I had is long gone. But, we are going to stay friends. And, that is just something you are going to have to deal with."
"Quoi que." whatever. He mumbled.
"Fine. I'm leaving." I said calmly. "Tell me when you realize you are what I want." I said and left.

When I got outside I realized I didn't have a car. So, I just started walked. I got to this place surrounded by trees. I felt my phone vibrated and looked at the caller ID. It was Kris. I hit the ignore button and called Max.
"Hello?" he said answering the phone.
"Hey." I said.
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"How did you know something was wrong?"
"I may only know you for a couple days. But, I do know you."
"Oh. Can you come pick me up?" I asked.
"Yeah, where are you?"
"I don't know. I left Kris' and just started walking."
"Okay. I'll find you." He said and hung up.

After a couple minutes and two more ignored phone calls from Kris, Max came.
"Thanks." I said when he walked over and I gave him a hug.
"Anytime. So, what's wrong?"
"Kris and I had a fight."
"About?"
"Chris."
"Excuse me?" he said.
"Chris, Is one of my friends I dated before, and he is moving to Pittsburgh."
"Oh."

"Yeah, I think he thinks that I would dump him for Chris."
"How did that make you feel?"
"What? Why?"
"Just answer."
"I don't know, hurt. I hate that he thinks something that will never be true."
"What do you mean?"
"I would," I took a breath. "never break up with him for Chris. In fact, I don't think there is anyone right now that I would break up with Kris for."

He smiled at me.
"Why are you smiling?"
"You love him." he said still smiling.
"What! No!"
"Oh, yes you do. I can tell by the way you talk about him. You can see it in your eyes."
"Max, no. We have been going out for like a week. It's too soon to even think that."
"Maybe, but every ones different. Every relationship is different."
"But, still. Even if I did love him. He doesn't love me."
"How can you be so sure?"
"I just am."
"Fine." he said.

We went back to Max's house, and I decided to take a nap before going to dinner with Vero.
While Carissa was taking a nap, Max called Kris.
"Max?" he said when he answered.
"Yeah, hey. Carissa called me."
"Is she okay? Where is she?"
"She's fine. And, she's at my house."
"Can I come over?"
"No. She's taking a nap. But, I have a plan."
"Okay." he said.
Max told him what his pan was and then hung up.

Carissa woke up and decided to have Max drive her home, so she could get ready for dinner.
"Have fun at dinner." Max said with a curious smile.
I looked at him weird. "Okay. Um, well. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay, bye." he said and leaned in and kissed me on the cheek.

I changed since my clothes were all wrinkled from the nap. Vero soon came and we went to dinner. I spent most of the time telling her my life story. Then she asked how Kris and I were. I had no choice, but to tell her the whole story. The whole story. What Max said. Everything. I felt I could trust her, so I didn't mind telling her.
"Well," she started "t sounds like to me. Max is right."
"What? Really?"
"Yes. You obviously don't see it."
"I guess I don't. I'm just scared."
"Of what?"

"Last time I loved someone I got my heart broken."
"Kris won't break your heart. You just have to admit it."
"Honestly? I do think I love him." I thought about it. "Hell, I don' t think. I know I do. It's just hard."
She looked up and looked down, but then looked up again taking a second glance of what she saw. "I, I... um. I.. have to go to the bathroom." Vero said trying to find the right words.
"Okay?" I said a bit confused.

She got up and left and I looked down at my feet. All of a sudden I saw another pair of shoes. I lost my breath for a moment and then looked up. Seeing Kris standing there brought back bad memories from today.
"Salut." he said under his breath standing above Carissa.
"Um, hi." I mumbled back.

"Can we um, talk somewhere?" he asked.
"I don't really have a choice, do I?" I said.
He sighed and put his hand out. "I guess I deserve that."
I put my hand in his and stood up. I let go of his hand and walked to wherever he was going. We ended up outside in the back where there was no one at. There was a small park behind the building. So, there was some trees and plants.
"Want to take a walk?" he asked me looking down.
"Sure." I said with no emotion.

"I'm really sorry." he said.
"Sure you are." I snapped back.
"Would you stop saying that to me! When I say I'm sorry I mean it."
"Whatever."
"Listen. I'm sorry for the things I said. I over reacted. I understand that Chris is your friend. It's just hard."
"Kris, yeah he's my friend. Only my friend. I went out with him before, yeah. But, I would never do it again. It didn't work out. And, that's how we are starting out. And, I'm just scared. I want this to work out. I really do. But, I don't think we are going to. Chris has been my best friend for years. And, I'm not just going to give that up because I got a new boyfriend."
"I know. And, you shouldn't have to. I understand he's your friend. I honestly, have no idea why I over reacted. I'm really sorry. I guess, I just thought if you went out with him before that you would again."

"Will I go out with him again? Maybe. Probably not. But, I will never dump you for him. Ever! Kris, we started out as best friends first. That might of been a mistake. If we break up. I.. I don't know what I would do without you." I said sitting down on a bench.
"We aren't going to break up. And, if we do. We will stay friends. I promise." He said sitting down next to me.
"Yeah, I get that. But, it will be awkward. Trust me. And. And, I'm scared."
"Of what?"
"The season is almost over."
"Yeah? So?"
"Your going to go home to Canada. What are we going to do then? I don't know if we could handle a long distance relationship. We have been together every day since I came here."

"Then come to Canada with me."
"What?"
"Come home with me."
"No, Kris. I can't."
"Why not?"
"I just came to Pittsburgh. I have moved so many times. I don't want to come here for two weeks and then just go to Canada for the summer. I need a steady place, Kris."
"Oh. I guess I understand."

"Kris, please don't be mad at me."
"I'm not mad." he said putting his hand on mine. "If anything. You should be mad at me."
"I was. But, I'm not anymore. I don't want to spend our last couple of weeks together mad at each other."
Kris smiled and put his hand under her chin and kissed her.

"So, is this fight over?" he asked.
"Defiantly." she said snuggling into him.
"Good. But, there's just one more thing we have to cover."
She lifted her head up and looked at him. "What's that?"

"I over heard you say something earlier. I thought it was quit interesting."
"Oh." she said clearly confused. Kris noticed this and continued.
"Do you really love me?" he asked looking down at her. She say her face light up and shock and couldn't help but smile.
"What? Kris. It's too soon."
"Why? You just told Vero that you loved me. Why can't you tell me."

"If you heard that. Then, you heard what I said before it. I'm scared Kris."
"I'm not going to hurt you. And, saying that is not going to change anything. You know why?"
"No. Why?"
He looked down to her, and noticed she was crying. He wiped her tears away and smiled.
"Because I love you."
Carissa felt like her heart was going to come out of her chest. She took a deep breath before saying, "I love you, too."

Kris smiled and leaned down and kissed her again.
"Want to come back to my house, now?"
She smiled. "Sure. Let me just go say bye to Vero, and Max I guess." she said laughing.
"Okay. I'll meet you by the car."
"Okay."
She kissed him one last time before going back into the restaurant.

Seven

I was laying in bed when I heard my door open.
"Hey." I said.
"Hey. Sorry, did I wake you?"
"No. I was up."
"Oh, okay. Did you spend the whole night here?" he asked me.
"Yeah, I came here around 10:30, and you were sleeping."
"Why did you sleep here?"
"Because I didn't want to sleep on the couch."
"You could of came in my room."
I smiled at him. "Really?"
"Yeah, It's not like I would mind."

We got up and walked into the kitchen. "When do you have to leave for practice?" I asked.
"In about a half an hour. You can leave whenever you want."
"Okay."
"Want some french toast?"
"No. I'm not hungry yet. I'll eat a little later."
"Okay." he said sitting down and starting to eat.

He got ready for practice and was about to leave.
"I have to go." he said.
"Okay, bye." I said smiling and kissing him.
"Bye. I'll text you when I'm going to pick you up for lunch." he said smiling and walked out the door.

I stayed at Kris' for a little while longer before going home.
"Where were you?" my dad asked me when I walked in the door.
Shit. "Kris'"
"I don't want you to spend the night there, Carissa."
"Why not? You were fine with it before."
"I know, but you two weren't together then."
"So? Nothing has changed. Nothing is going to happen. I promise."
"Fine, Carissa. I trust you. I trust Kris, too. Don't ruin it."
"I won't dad." I said giving him a hug.

"Hey." I said answering my phone. It was now around eleven-thirty.
"Hey!" Kris said.
"How was practice?"
"Good. I think we have a better chance tonight."
"That's good. Are you on your way?"
"Yup. I'm going to be there in a couple minutes. You ready?"
"Yeah. Where are we eating?"
"I was thinking of this one small cafe. Sound good?"
"Perfect. See you in a bit."
"Bye!"

I hung up and waited for Kris to pull in. I walked out to the car when I saw him pull in.
"Hey." I said getting in the car.
"Hey!" he said kissing my cheek.
"What's with you?" I asked him.
"What do you mean?"
"You seem really hyper."
"Je suis hyper. Merci." I am hyper. Thank you.
"Ahh.. ok quoi que." I said laughing. okay whatever.
He laughed. "Vous rappelez-vous du français, maintenant?" You remember some French, now?
"Oui. J'en ai étudié. Ainsi, je me rappelle maintenant." Yes. I studied some. So, I remember now.
"Bon." good.

When we got to the restaurant we both got out and I walked behind Kris. "Oh come on! Walk faster!" I yelled.
"No!" he said smiling.
I put my hands and my forehead on his back, and tried making him walk faster, which didn't workout. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Soon Kris stopped, and before I knew what was going on his arms were around me.
"Whoa. What are you doing?" I asked.
He laughed, "Were here."
"Oh," I said trying to get away. I sighed when I he wasn't moving. "Are you going to let me go?"

He smiled and kissed me on the forehead, while letting me go.
"So, are you going to ride with your dad to the game?" he asked me during lunch.
"Yeah. Who else would I ride with?"
"Well.. I was kinda hoping you would ride with me?"
"Are you sure? I mean, we've only been dating for like two days. Everyone will know about us."
"Yeah, but I'm not like Sid. No one cares if I'm dating someone."
I laughed, "I think there are some people who do care about you."
"Yeah, maybe. But, seriously. Will you?"
"Yeah, I will."
"Okay, want to come to my house like, a half an hour before we have to leave?"
"Yeah, I'll be there."

We soon left and was at my house. I invited Kris to come in for a while before he had to leave to take a nap and things before the game.
"Hi, Kris." my dad said when we walked into the door.
"Hi, Ray."
"Are you ready for tonight?"
"Yeah, I think we will do better."
"Good, I like your attitude." he said laughing before walking into the kitchen, and Kris and I went up to my room.

"So, what do you want to do?" Kris said sitting on my bed, and turning on the tv.
I laid on the bed next to him. "Just lay here." I said into my bed.
He laughed. "Come here." he said and put his arms out.
I looked up and smiled at him before snuggling into him.

I put my hand on his thigh. He grabbed my hand and laced his fingers with mine. A while later I looked at the clock. "I think It's time for you to go." I said.
He sighed and looked at the clock. "Yeah, I'll see you later." he said getting up.
"Bye." I said.
"Bye." he said leaning down and kissing my lips.

"Hey." I said walking down after Kris left.
"Hi." my mom said, "Was that Kris?"
"Yeah, I'm going to ride with him to the game."
"Okay, are you going to sit in the box with us?"
"Yeah."
"You want to go shopping with me before we have to get home?" she asked grabbing her purse.
"Yeah, sure. Let me go get my shoes."

"So, you haven't told me a lot about Kris, so tell me about him." my mom said as we were walking around the mall.
"What about him?"
"I don't know. What does he do for the team, something."
"He's a defenceman."

"Has he changed your mind about hockey?"
"I don't know, I guess. It's still not one of my favorite sports. I'm a basketball and baseball person, you know that. But, I'm at least enjoying it now."
"That's good. How old is he?"
"Twenty-two."
"Where's he from?"
"Um. Montreal. Are you almost done with twenty questions?"
"Yes, just one more question."
"What is it?"

"Do you love him?"
"What!"
"Do you love him?"
"We've only been dating for a couple of days. Of coarse, I don't."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, mom. Why are you asking this?"
"Because you just seemed really happy with him."
"Well, yeah. Of coarse I'm going to be happy. I was always happy when I was with him. He was my best friend before he was my boyfriend."
"Okay."

We let out a sigh of relief. We just won our first game. I really didn't want to admit it. But, I was getting into hockey. We got up and went down to go to the locker room. I walked in and felt a pair of arms go around me.
"Hey!" Max yelled.
I laughed. "Hey. Good job."

"Thanks! Hey, come here."
"Why?"
"I want you to meet Vero."
"Marc's girlfriend."
"Oh, why?"
"Because he loves her!" he said smiling.

"That's not what I meant." I said rolling my eyes.
"I know. Because since you are Kris girlfriend now. I figured you should hang out with the girlfriends." he started whispering. "But, I don't think you will like Geno's girlfriend. No offence to her though, I like her."
I laughed. "You like all girls."
"Yeah, yeah. Now come on!"

"Vero!" he yelled.
She turned around. "Hi." she said smiling.
"This is Carissa, Kris' girlfriend. Carissa, this is Vero, Marc's girlfriend."
"Hi." I said smiling at her.
"Nice to meet you." she said.
"You two."

We talked for a little bit more and then I went to find Kris.
"Hey, good job." I said kissing him quickly.
"Thanks." he said smiling.
"You ready?" he asked me.
"Yeah, your ready already? Wow!"
"Shut up." he said playfully pushed me.
I smiled, "Let's go."
He smiled back, and put his arm around me. I put my arm around him and snuck my hand in his back pocket. He looked down at me, and I just leaned up and kissed his cheek.

We got into the car, and started driving.
"Hey, do you mind if I just stay at your place tonight. I'm too tired to go home." I asked.
He laughed. "Of coarse I don't mind."
"Okay, cool."
"Hey, um. I'm going to breakfast with Chris. Then dinner with Vero. She apparently wants to get to know me." I said laughing.
"Okay."

We got to his house and watched TV till 930.
"I'm going to go to bed."
"Okay, go in my room."
I smiled. "Okay."
I got in his bed. Which was really comfortable. I felt the bed shift next to me, and felt Kris put his arm around me. I smiled to myself. "Goodnight." I said.
"Goodnight, babe."
I smiled at him calling me babe and fell asleep.

Six

**My Aunt Audra just had a baby a couple days ago and his name is Canyon. So, that's where that part of my story came from.

We left the arena and got on the plane. "Carissa! Sit with me!" Max yelled.
I laughed. "Okay!"
I sat down next to him and soon the plane took off.

"So, what's going on with you and Kris?" he asked me.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Oh come on! I saw him kiss you."
"Yeah, so?"
"Are you two going out?"
"No."
"What! why not!"
"Because nothing was said about it."
"What! Why not!"
"I don't know. Stop repeating yourself."
"I'll be right back." he said and got up and walked up the isle.

I sighed and put my head on the window.
"Hey." I heard Kris say a couple minutes later.
"Hi." I said as he sat down next to me.
"So.." he started.
"Oh god! What did Max do!"
He just laughed. "He didn't do anything. I just wanted to talk about what happened."
"We kissed."
"Yes, I know that."
"Then, what?"

"Listen.." he started, "I like you, a lot. And, I would love for you to be my girlfriend. But, if you don't want to do that. I am fine with that. We can stay just friends."
"Kris, why do you always doubt yourself?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why do you doubt yourself? Why wouldn't I want to be your girlfriend?"
"Because you don't like me?"
"You know I do. Cheyenne told you."
"I know, but you can never trust her."
I smiled. "That's true. But, seriously Kris. I would love to be you girlfriend."
"Really!"
I laughed, "Yes."

He smiled and put his hand on the back of my neck. I smiled before leaning in and kissing him. He pulled away and smiled. I rested my head on his shoulder snuggling into him. He put his arm around me and I soon fell asleep.

I woke up and everyone was starting to get off the plane. I picked my head up off of Kris' shoulder. We got off the plane and I stopped with Kris.
"I'll see you later." I said giving him a hug.
"Bye." he said hugging me back.

When I walked in my door I got a text message from Kris.
i'll be there at twelve o'clock, for our daily lunch :)
okayy! see you then. I'm going to go to bed, night. mmmmuuuaaaahhhh!
(: night, muah!

I smiled before laying down on my bed and going to sleep.
I woke around 10:30 since I didn't get to sleep til twelve.
Kris came right at twelve.

"Hey." I said getting into his car.
"Hey."
"Where are we going to eat?"
"I don't know. I was hoping you would decide."
"Oh come on. When do I ever decide?" I said laughing.
"Exactly! That's why you need to decide!"
I smiled. "Fine."

"Guess what!" I said later at lunch.
"What!" he said laughing.
"My aunt and cousin are coming to town tomorrow!"
"That's cool. How old is your cousin?"
"6 months."
"Oh, wow. Do I get to come and see him?"
"Of coarse! And, you can meet the person who raised me when I lived in San Antonio."
"Oh. Pressure." he said smiling.
"No, she's pretty cool. She'll love you."
"Yeah, yeah."
"I'm serious!"
"Okay." he said laughing.

He drove me home and we were sitting outside in his car.
"I'll see you tomorrow at one." he said.
"One?"
"Yes, practice is later so.."
"Okay, are we just going to stay here, so we can hang out with my aunt and cousin?"
"Yeah, that sounds good. Are you coming to the game tomorrow?"
"Yeah, I'm going to be at all the games this series."
"Oh, okay."
"I'm going to be your good luck charm." I said smiling.
"Oh, really?" he said looking at me and smiling back.
"Yes."

"Okay, well. I have to get going. I'll talk to you later tonight."
"Okay!" I said.
I leaned in and gave him a quick kiss.
"Bye." I said smiling.
He smiled back. "Bye."

The next day right around one Kris showed up.
"Aunt Audra, this is Kris, my boyfriend. Kris, this is my Aunt Audra, and my cousin Canyon."
"Hi, nice to meet you." he said.
"You too!" my aunt said to him smiling.
I took my cousin from my aunts hands and sat on his blanket that was on the floor. Kris joined me, and we started playing with him. I loved little kids. I could tell at first Kris was a little hesitant, but he soon warmed up to Canyon. He was actually doing great with him.

"Hey, want to come to my place with me? I have to get some kind of food ready for the team to eat." he said a while later.
"Sure! As long as I get to cook. I love to cook!"
He laughed. "Sounds good to me. I hate cooking."
I laughed and walked over to aunt Audra.

"Hey, I'm going to Kris' I'll see you later."
"Okay! Have fun!"
"I will. Bye!"
"Bye!"

We got to Kris' house and I ran into the kitchen. "Hey, what are you making?" he asked coming in behind me.
"Food!" I said smiling at him as he got closer, and backed me into the counter.
"I meant what kind of food, smart Alic." he said.
He put his hands on the sides of me putting them on the counter.
I smiled and leaned up and kissed his lips. "You'll find out."

I ducted under his arms and ran to the fridge.
Later he walked into the kitchen, "Hey, you have a little sauce on your face." he said.
"Where!" I said.
"Rightt..... here." he said licking the corner of my mouth.
"That's hot." I said when he pulled away.
He laughed, and leaned down and kissed me.
His tongue parted my lips and deepened the kiss.
After a while I pulled away and smiled.

"I have to finish." I said.
He smiled "Okay. But, I think I know what it is now."
"What?"
"Something with sauce."
I laughed. "Good guess!"

Awhile later the guys came, and I gave them the food I made.
"Wow. Not even a day, and she's already cooking for you." Max said laughing.
"Hey! She wanted to cook!" Kris said.
I smiled and Max gave me a look. "It's true."

"This is really good." Jordan said with a mouth full.
"Chew your food Jordan." I said smiling and sitting next to Kris.
"I'm glad you two are finally together." Tyler said.
I smiled and looked at Kris.
"Yeah! I know! I don't think I ever heard him talk about a girl, as much as he talks about you."
I smiled and put hand on Kris' thigh. His head shot up and looked at me. I smiled slightly at him and he put his hand on mine.

A while later I got a call from my aunt.
"Hey, Kris. I got to go." I said coming into the room.
"Okay. Are you going to come back later?" he asked.
"Maybe. It might be late. Would you still want to come over?"
"Yeah. Just text me or whatever before you come."
"Okay. I'll see you later." I said kissing his cheek.
"Bye."
"Bye!" all of the guys said.

"Hey." I said walking into my house.
"Hi." my aunt said smiling.
"Have fun?" she asked.
"Yes, when are you going to be back?"
"It's 8:30 now. So, around ten?"
"Okay, I'll see you then."
"Bye." she said handing me Canyon.

I baby sat him until my aunt came home around 10:15.
I sent Kris a quick text telling him I was coming over, and then left my house.
When I got there I didn't see of here Kris.
I walked around until I found him sleeping on his bed.
I smiled to myself looking at him, he looked so peaceful.
I walked into Kris' spare room and laid on the bed. I was tired, so I was soon asleep.

I sighed as I got up. The Penguins just lost. They played good, the other team was just better. I looked at my dad, and we got up. No one was really talking, except for Max. But, well. That goes without saying. I walked over to Max.

"You played good. Don't worry." I said giving him a hug.
"Thanks. I think you need to go give him a hug." Max said pointing to Kris, who was sitting there with his hands in his head.
"Okay." I nodded and started walking over to Kris.

"Hey." I said sitting next to him. He didn't answer.
"Okay, I might not know a ton about hockey. But, I could tell you all played a good game. And, you guys will come back, and win. I promise. Plus, you should listen to your best friend." I said smiling.
He looked up at me with a laugh. He smiled at me. "Thanks." he said.
"Anytime."
"I'm going to go get a shower, thanks again."
"Your welcome." I said getting up. I gave him a hug and he went into the showers.

"Impressive!" Max yelled, and I laughed.
Soon we all got onto the bus to head to the hotel.

I couldn't sleep that night so I went down to the hotel restaurant to get a drink.
"Couldn't sleep either?" I heard Kris ask me as he sat down next to me.
I sighed, "No."
"Want to come with me. Take a walk? Maybe it will get us tired." he said slightly laughing.
"Sure." I said.
He got up and grabbed my hand to help me up.

We walked out of the hotel.
"So, where do you want to go?" I asked.
"Anywhere, let's just walk."
"Okay." I said smiling.

"It's kinda cold out." I said.
"You want my hoodie?" Kris asked me.
"No, that's okay."
"No, take it. I'm not cold." he said handing it to me.
I put it on. "You know, you should just keep it. You always use it." he said laughing.
I smiled, "Thanks."
"No, problem. I only have like ten thousand hoodies."
I laughed, and we continued walking.

I sat down on a bench and Kris sat next to me. "What time do you have practice tomorrow?"
"In the mourning. Around, nine."
"Want to go to lunch again?"
"Sure." he said smiling, that looked perfect under the faint light coming from the street light above us.

"Your smile looks good under the light." I said to him.
He smiled, "So does yours."
"So, um." he said, "Cheyenne told me something interesting." he said, as we started walking again. We got into the hotel and was on our way up to my hotel room.
I sighed, "Great."
We stopped in front of my door. "It's not a bad thing."
"I didn't want you to know."
"Why not?" he asked.
"It's.. just." I started to say.
Just then he started to lean in and I did the same. Just as our lips were about to touch the door flung open revealing Cheyenne.

"Where the hell have you been!" Cheyenne said looking at me.
I looked at Kris. "I.. uh. talk to you tomorrow."
"Okay, bye." he said and left.
I walked into the room and jumped on my bed sighing.
"Well..?" Cheyenne said standing there.
"I took a walk. Why are you even up?" I said.
"I had to go to the bathroom, and you weren't here!"
"Listen! Just go to bed! I'm not a kid. I can take care of myself."
"Fine." she said and got into her bed going to sleep.
I realized I still had Kris hoodie on. I didn't both taking it off. It smelled good.

I woke up the next day around eleven. I hardly got any sleep last night. I got up and got ready to go to lunch with Kris. I heard a knock on the door, it was Kris. I opened it and walked out, to go to lunch.
"Hey." I said looking down.
"Hey." he said back.
"What did you do today?" he asked me.
"Sleep." I said laughing.
"That's good." he said laughing.
"Yeah, I guess."

"So, tell me some funny stories." I said to him when we were sitting down eating lunch.
He laughed. "I got my socks stapled to my locker when I was in the shower." he said.
"By who!" I said laughing.
"Sid! I couldn't believe he did that!"
"Wow, I can't either."
"I also remember when Marc hid in Colby Armstrong's bag and jumped up and scared him."
"That would be funny to watch!"
"Yeah, it was. We have a lot of funny guys on our team?"
"Who? Max? Billy?"

He smiled, "Yes, Matt and Marc, too." "Geno it pretty funny too."
"I can't even understand him!"
He laughed at me. "I know."

We got some desert. I stuck my fork in it, and some of the chocolate splatted on Kris. "Hey!" he yelled. I laughed, "Sorry!"
He took some wimped cream and threw it on me.
"Kris!" I yelled.
"What?" he said acting all innocent.

That started a big fight. Just then Kris leaned in. Our lips almost touched and his cell phone rang. He sighed, and picked up his phone. "Hello?" he asked. "Yeah, I'll be up in a little." "Fine. See you in a bit." "Okay! Bye!"
"Listen, I got to go." he said.
"Okay, bye."
"Bye."
I sighed, before getting up and going to my room.

The next mourning I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the door.
I saw Cheyenne get up. "Jordan!" she said giving him a hug.
"Hey, Kris." she said. I immediately sat up.

"Hey, Carissa, I invited them over for this mourning."
"Gee, thanks for telling me."
"Welcome!" she said smiling.

"I look like shit." I said to Kris as he came over and sat down on my bed.
"That's okay. I get to see the real you."
I laughed. "What time is it?"
"9:30."
I groaned, "I guess I should get ready. Will you wait here while I get dressed?"
"Sure." he said smiling.

I got up and went to get dressed. When I was done getting ready I walked out around early.
"Hey, want to make our daily lunch into a brunch?" he said looking at his watch.
"Sure, I'll go get my shoes on."

"Let's go somewhere different today." he said.
"Where?"
"I don't know. Let's walk around, we'll find something."
"What time to you have to be back?"
"Three-thirty. So, we have plenty of time."
"Okay!"

The Penguins ended up losing again. Cheyenne got up and went into the locker room. I went over to Max and Cheyenne went to Jordan. When I was done talking to Max I went over to Kris.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked coming up to him.
"You don't care." he mumbled.
"Kris! Don't say that! Of coarse I care!"
"I was thinking about Luc."
"What about him?" I asked putting my hand on his knee.
"I just miss him."
"Oh, I'm sorry. That has to be hard. But, cheer up! You are going to win the Cup. And to do that you have to be happy. Plus, I don't hang out with unhappy people."
He laughed and looked at me. "Thanks. I'm sorry for being like this."
I smiled. "Sure, you are."
He laughed.

"I'm going to go talk to Chey. I'll see you later." I said getting up and starting to walk away.
"Wait!" he said and grabbed my wrist.
He turned me around, and all of a sudden I felt his lips on mine. It was perfect.
I pulled away, and smiled, walking away.

Four

When we got there I saw all the guys standing and waiting outside for them to be able to get on the plane. Kris was with Max, Marc, Sid, Billy, and Evgeni. All of them were laughing. I smiled and walked over to them.
"Hey!" Kris said.
I smiled, "Hey, y'all."
Max put his arm around me, "So, are you going to sit with me?" he said smiling.
"Hey!" Marc yelled.
"Sorry, Max. I've already been taken."
"What! By who!"
I pointed to Kris, "Him."
"Of coarse." he whispered in my ear.

I laughed and, he took his arm off of me.
Everyone started boarding the plane. Kris walked over to me. "Ready?"I smiled at him.
"Yes." He smiled back at me and, we walked up the stairs.

Sidney and Billy sat across from us, and Marc and Max sat next to us.
"Okay, Carissa. Since theses kids are playing their stupid PSP. What do you want to talk about?" Billy asked me after a little bit on the plane.
"How about why everyone loves you to death." I said smiling.
"Because, I'm fun!" he said laughing. "No, really. I have no idea."
"You seem to get along with everyone here."
"Yeah, I do. Everyone gets along with everyone. That's what I love. It's one big family. Remind me to thank your dad for getting me here."
I laughed. "Will do."

Soon Kris and Sidney got off of the PSP.
"Have fun?" I said smiling at both of them.
"I lost." Kris said.
"I won." Sid smiled at me.
"Do you always win?"
"Yes!" I heard about the whole plane say.
I laughed and looked out the window.

"Hey. Are you excited to see Cheyenne?"
"Yeah, I haven't seen her in forever."
He smiled. "Yeah, I bet you are excited."
"Totally! Hey, you want to get lunch with me, before I have to go pick up Cheyenne?"
"Sure." he said smiling. "As long as I get to go to the airport with you to meet Cheyenne."
I laughed. "Okay. But, can I ask you something?"
"Yes?"
"Why do you want to meet Cheyenne?"
"Because she can tell me funny stories about you." he said smiling.
"Ahh. So the truth comes out."
He smiled at me. "It will always come out."

"Oh, come on!" Max yelled. "Would you two stop flirting!"
I was shocked he just said that. Were we flirting?
"We aren't flirting." I said.
"Yes, you were!" Marc yelled.
"Marc, we weren't flirting." Kris said.
"Yes you were!" Sid and Billy said together.

I laughed, and decided to change the conversation.
"Wow. You two spend way too much time together." I said. "So everyone says." Sid said rolling his eyes.
Soon the plane landed and everyone headed to the hotel.

After we put our bags in our rooms I met Kris in the hotel restaurant.
"Hey, when do you have to go get Cheyenne?" Kris said looking down at his watch while we were eating."Um. Three."
"It's two-thirty. Want to head out, now?"
"Yeah." I said standing up.
We both got into a cab and went to the airport. Kris and I were playing cards when Cheyenne walked over to us. I looked up. "Cheyenne!" I yelled.

"Carissa! It's so good to see you!" she said.
"Who's this?" she asked looking at Kris.
Kris stood up. "This is Kris. Kris, this is Cheyenne."
"Obviously." he said laughing shaking Cheyenne's hand.
"Is this a boyfriend I never heard about?" Cheyenne said looking at me.
We both laughed. "No. Were just friends."
"Uh huh. He's pretty cute." she said.

I looked over to Kris, who was blushing.
"I know." I whispered to her.
She smiled at me and we started walking outside.

"So. If you think he's cute, then why aren't you going out with him?" Cheyenne asked later when we were sitting in our hotel room.
"Relationships, aren't just for looks, Chey."
"Oh, I know. But, you two look reaaalllyyyy cute together."
I laughed. "Well.. then it's a good thing were like best friends isn't it?"
"Fine. Yes, it is."
"Okay. Go to sleep." I said. It was 12:00.
"Fine. Night."
"Night."

I woke up around 8:00. The team had a practice today, and then a game tonight. Cheyenne and I weren't going to the practice, but we were going to the game. It won't be the first hockey game I went to, but it probably would be the first one I was interested in.We were hanging out with the guys before they go to practice though. They pretty much all met Cheyenne yesterday. We walked to Kris' hotel room where everyone was at.

"Hey." I said to Max when he answered the door.
"Hey, guess what!" Max answered.
I laughed. "What!"
"Since neither of you have a jersey we are going to give you both a jersey. But, you. Carissa, have to decide who's jersey you want. Don't worry. I won't be mad if you pick Kris." he said. Everyone else was talking.

"I think I'm going to wear Kris' if you don't mind." I said smiling. I took him by his hand and pulled him over. I whispered in his ear, "But, could you get Jordan's jersey for Cheyenne. I think she has a little crush on him."
He looked at me and smiled. "Of coarse."

"Hey Kris, Jordan! Give Carissa and Cheyenne your jerseys."
Kris walked over to me and handed me a jersey. "Don't you need this tonight?" I asked.
"No. That's the one I wore the last game. We got new ones."
"Oh, well. Thank you." I said giving me a hug. He hugged me back.
"Your welcome."

"It smells like you." I said laughing.
"And you know what I smell like?"
"Well.. I did wear your hoodie before."
"Oh, yeah." he said smiling.

"So, does Cheyenne have a crush on Jordan?"
"What makes you say that?" I said laughing, looking at Cheyenne and Jordan flirting.
"Oh, I don't know." he said being sarcastic.
"You know, she thinks we should got out because, 'We look good together.'" I said using air quotes.
He laughed. "It's a good thing we're best friends, then."
"That's what I said!"

We hung out with the guys some more, and then they had to go to practice.
"So, I saw you and Jordan flirting." I said smiling at her, when we were walking around.
"Oh, so your telling me you and Kris weren't flirting?"
"We weren't." he said.
"Oh yes you were! Jordan said you two flirt all the time!"
"Is that what Jordan said?" I said smiling.
"Shut up!" she yelled.

Kris' point of view

We got to the arena and was in the locker room.
"Soo Kris, what were you and Carissa talking about?" Billy said elbowing me in the side.
I shot him a look. "Seriously guys, would you please stop it."
"No." everyone said.
"Oh, come on Kris. You know you two flirt all the time." Max said.
"No, I don't. Because, we don't."
"Yes, you do." Sid said.
"Carissa and Kris sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Max sang.

I rolled my eyes and finished getting ready. We got done with practice and went back to the hotel. We all had to take our pre-game naps. But, I still had two hours before I had to take mine. I decided to call to Carissa room, and I took Jordan with me for Cheyenne.

Carissa's point of view

I heard a knock on the door. I opened and saw Kris and Jordan. "Hey." I said smiling.
"Hey." they both said.
"Want to go to lunch with us?" Kris asked.
"I don't know. Is that an invite for Cheyenne, too?"
"Of coarse!"
"Okay. Sure, I'll go get Cheyenne and we'll get ready. You guys can come in and do whatever if you want."
"Okay." they both said, and walked in.

"Hey, Cheyenne!" I yelled, "Jordan and Kris are here. We're going to lunch with them."
"Okay!" she said excitedly.
We both got ready and walked out to where Kris and Jordan was.
"Ready?" I asked.
"Yeah." they both said and jumped up.

"Are we just going to eat at the hotel restaurant?" I asked.
"Yes! Please! I'm starving!" Jordan said.
I laughed. "Okay. We'll eat there then."

When we got there, there was only two tables left both with two seats and on different sides of the restaurant. I wanted to let Jordan and Cheyenne get some time alone with each other. So, Kris and I sat together.
"It seems like we eat together everyday." I laughed.
"Awe. That's not a bad thing."
"No, it's not. Okay, so I have to ask since you know about my best friends. Who is your best friend?"
"Umm. Well.. My best friend died last year."
"Wow. I'm so sorry."
He gave me a small smile. "I am close with a lot of people on the team."

"You know. I consider you, basically, my best friend." I said.
"Really?"
"Yeah, I mean. You are defiantly one of my best friends. And, your the only best friend that is in Pittsburgh."
"I consider you like my best friend, too."
"Your going to leave soon though."
"Yeah.." he sighed. "But, I'm not going to be gone forever."
"I know. But, who am I going to tease when your not here?" I said smiling at him.
"You can still tease me on the phone." he laughed.
"I'm going to have to do that!"

I looked over to Jordan and Cheyenne laughing. "It seems like Jordan and Cheyenne are getting along."
He looked over, and laughed. "Yeah, but what are they going to do if they get together?"
"I have no idea." I sighed.
"She should move here!"
I laughed. "She wouldn't do that. Her whole life is at home. Unless she really. I mean, really, loves Jordan she isn't going to move."
"I just hate for Jordan to get his heart broken again, last time he was so miserable. No one could get him to cheer up."
"Awe. I'll feel bad."
"Yeah.."

"What about you?" I asked.
"What are you talking about?"
"What about your previous relationships?"
"About a month ago, I broke up with my girlfriend of two years."
"Why?"
"She changed. All she wanted now was my money."
"I'm sorry."
He smiled "It's okay. What about your relationships?"
"Are you ready for a long story?" I laughed.
"Yes." he smiled.

"I had a boyfriend every place I lived except in Canada," I started. "None of them really cared about me. When I moved to San Antonio, I became best friends with Chris. We both ended up liking each other as more than friends. So, we decided to try it out. Then, he started hanging out with this other girl more. I could tell he liked her. So, I broke up with him. He ended up going out with the girl, but breaking up with her. He said he wanted me, but I didn't want it. We ended up becoming best friends again. And, that's where we are now."
"Wow. So I'm guessing that was the most seriously boyfriend you ever had?"
"Yeah, I was older then. So, It was easier to have a boyfriend."

"Hey." Jordan said coming over to us.
"Hi." we both said.
"We have to go take our nap." he said to Kris.
"Oh, okay. I'll see you later." Kris said to me.
"Bye." I said.
"Bye."

They both left and Cheyenne sat down. "So, how are you and Jordan?" I asked.
"He asked me to be his girlfriend." he said with a smiled.
"Awe. What are you going to do about the distance though?"
"I have no idea. But, we'll figure it out. How are you and your loverboy?" she said smiling.
"He is not my boyfriend!" I said.
"Fine. But, admit it. You like him."
I smiled slightly, "I don't know. I guess I kinda do."
"I knew it! Does he like you?"
"I don't know! I'm not just going to ask him! And, this just started."
"I'll ask!" she said running after Jordan and Kris.
"Chey! No! Stop!" I said running after her.
I saw she found them and I just went up to my room. Saving myself from embarrassment.

Kris' point of view

"Kris! Kris!" I heard someone say.
I turned around and saw Cheyenne running after us, with Carissa running after her. Once Cheyenne got there, I saw Carissa just go into the elevator.
"Kris!" she said on more time, catching her breath.
"What?" I asked.
"I need to ask you something!" she said pulling me into a corner away from Jordan.
"What is it?" I asked, confused.
"Do you like Carissa?" she asked.
I was shocked. Where was this coming from, why was she asking. Should I tell her?
I sighed. "Yeah."
"Seriously!"
"Yeah. Why?"

"She likes you!"
"No she doesn't."
"Yes, she does. Kris!"
"Okay. Yeah, I'm happy about that. But, for now I want to just be friends. I want to get to know each other. And, I don't really want a relationship right now."
She sighed. "I understand. It's okay. Do you want me to tell Carissa?"
"No. Don't tell her anything." I sighed.
"Okay. I'll let you get your nap. Bye." she said walking away.

Three

"Hey, dad." I said going into the house.
"Hey, where were you?"
"Kris', some of the guys were over there."
"Oh. Did you have fun?"
"Yeah, they are pretty funny." I said laughing.
"They are a big family, that's for sure."
"I'm going with Kris tomorrow, he's going to show me Pittsburgh."
"That sounds fun. You've been spending a lot of time with him."
"Yeah, I guess. We're friends."
"Just friends?" he said with an eyebrow raised.
I laughed. "Yes dad, just friends."

I woke up the next mourning and sighed. I didn't go to bed till four. It with 930. So I got up to get ready. I got a quick shower, and dried my hair, straightening it. I put on a dark purple v-neck tee, and a pair of ripped shorts. I put on the necklace that Chris gave me before I left, and went downstairs. I looked out the window and Kris pulled in. I slipped on my shoes and walked outside and got in the car.

"You never wear any normal shirts. Do you?" Kris asked.
I laughed. "What do you mean?"
"You always wear a v-neck shirt."
"So? It's not like you mind." I smiled.
"Yeah, yeah." he said.

"So where are we going first?" I asked.
"Wherever you want too. What kind of place do you want to see?"
"How about a place to eat. I'm hungry."
He laughed. "Sounds good. I'll show you one of my favorite places."

I laughed when we pulled up to Denny's. He looked at me and smiled.
"Well.. you did tell me your favorite food was pancakes." he said.
"You remember that?" I asked kinda shocked.
"Of coarse." he said.
"Well.. that's really sweet." I said, and smiled. I reached up and kissed him on the check.
He smiled back at me "avancé." he said. I thought about it for a minute. Come on. That's what it meant.
"Okay." I said and got out of the car.

We walked into Denny's and sat down.
"Okay. So, I know this sounds kinda weird, but since I don't know. How old are you?" I said laughing.
He smiled. "I turned twenty-one in April. You?"
"I turned nineteen a week before I came here."
"Really? That's cool."
I smiled. "Yeah.. I guess."

"What do you want to do now?" he asked me.
"Um.. I'm not sure. Maybe go and walk around, see the different stores?"
"That sounds good. Ready to go?" he asked me.
"Yupp." I said standing up.

We left our car there and just walked to the stores. We saw this candy store. I made him go in. I loved candy. I saw a ton of things that I wanted. But, I only got half of them. Kris got his own bag. When we walked out Kris handed me his bag of candy. I looked at him.
"Happy late birthday." he said.
I smiled and gave him a hug. Something felt different about this hug, from any other hugs I have had. I pulled away and smiled. "Thank you." He smiled back. "Your welcome."

"So. Are you going to ride the plane with us and your dad to Detroit?" he asked.
"I think so. I'm just going to ride there and go to the hotel and then go pick up my friend at the airport a little later."
"Wow. Your busy." he laughed.
"Yeah.. so, what do you guys normally do on the plane?"
"Play PSP." he laughed.
"I see. So I'm probably better off sitting with my dad, then any of the guys?"
"Any of the guys? yes. Me? no. You can sit with me. I mean.. if you want."
"That would be good. If you don't mind."
"Of coarse I don't mind."

"So. Do you watch any hockey?"
"No. Basketball girl, here." I said pointing to myself.
"Really? Who's your favorite team?"
"The Spurs."
"Really? I like them."
"You watch basketball?"
"Yeah, I watch pretty much every sport."
I laughed. "I can understand. Who's your favorite team?"
He smiled. "San Antonio."
"No way!"
"Yeah, I'm a big fan of Tony Parker."
"So am I!"

Just then it started pouring down rain. "Damn it." I said, and ran under a roof in front of a store.
"Here." Kris said taking off his hoodie and handing it to me.
"Aren't you going to be wet, then?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I don't care." he said smiling at me.
I smiled back and put his hoodie on. I secretly smelled it. It smelled pretty good.
I put the hood up and we stepped back into the rain.

"Oh wait! I have an umbrella!" I said. I took it out of my purse and opened it.
"Here." I said handing it to Kris. He held it up, and I came closer to him. It was a small umbrella, so we were pretty close.

We walked back to Denny's. It stopped raining, and we toke the umbrella down. But, we didn't bother moving apart. I smiled to myself and Kris looked at me "Why are you smiling?" he asked.
"No reason." I said looking up at him and gave him a slight smile.
"With you, I know there is never no reason." he said smiling back.
"You don't know me that well."
"Oh, but I do."
"Yeah, okay. Let's just get in the car." I said laughing.

We both got into the car. "Ready to go home?" he asked me.
"Ughh.. I'm not ready to go home." I said putting my head back and closing my eyes.
"Want to go back to my place?"
"You don't mind?"
"Not at all."
"Okay. Then, yes."

"What do you want to do?" he asked once we got into his house.
"This." I said jumping on his coach and laying there.
He laughed. "Jour occupé pour vous, eh?"
I looked up at him, "Huh?"
He laughed. "I said. Busy day for you, eh?"
I smiled. "Yes, It was."

"I still don't get it." he said as I sat up and he sat next to me.
"What are you talking about?"
"How can someone who lived in Canada that long, not remember French?"
"Hey! It's hard when you have lived everywhere. I still know some, I'm just not fluent. I have a southern accent."
"I can tell."
"Really." I said looking at him.
"Yes, It's just the way you talk. You can tell you lived in the south."
"Well.. that's good I guess."
"Not in Pittsburgh, It isn't." he laughed.
"Yeah, okay." I smiled at him.

"Want something to drink?" he asked.
"Coke. Soda. Pop. Whatever." I said getting frustrated.
He laughed and got up and walked into the kitchen.
I grabbed the remote and turned on TV. I turned to Friends and watched it. I laughed.
"What are you laughing at?" Kris asked me walking into the living room.
I pointed to the TV. "I love this show."
He laughed. "Well.. I see you are making yourself comfortable." laughed, at how I just kinda did whatever.
"Hey! If we are going to be friends, I must be this way!"
"Must."
"Yes, must."

He looked at me for a second. "Um. Here's your drink." He said handing it to me.
"Thanks." I said smiling at him. He smiled back and sat down.
I was watching Friends very carefully then all of a sudden SportsCenter was on.
"Hey!" I yelled.
"My house." he said smiling at me.
"Not far!" I yelled.
He got up, "You turn the channel, and then your just going to leave!"
"Yupp." he said and turned around still holding the remote.

I got up and ran after him. I jumped on him, and he was shocked. "Give me the remote!" I yelled grabbed it, and trying to get it off of him. That went on for a bit when someone opened the door.
"Uhh. Did I interrupt something?" Tyler asked with a smile.
"No." We both said and I got off of him. I quickly grabbed the remote. I stuck my tongue out at Kris, and he laughed. I walked over and sat down, turning Friends back on.

Tyler and Kris went in the kitchen and talked in there. About an hour later Kris came back out and Tyler left. We sat there and watched TV. I looked at the clock. 9:00. I probably should get going, but I didn't want to get up. I must of fell asleep because I don't remember anything after that.

Kris' point of view
The show we were watching ended, and I looked over to Carissa. She was sleeping. She looked so peaceful. I didn't want to wake her up for her just to go back to sleep, so I picked up my phone and called Ray.
"Hey Ray, it's Kris." I said once he answered his phone.
"Hi, Kris."
"Okay, hey. Carissa fell asleep on the coach watching TV. Can she just stay here tonight?"
"Don't do anything Kris." He said in a stern voice.
"I won't I promise."
"Okay, Kris. I trust you. She can stay."
"Thank you."
"Your welcome, now get some sleep, you have to be up early for the plane."
"Will do. Bye."
"Bye."

I sighed and looked at Carissa one more time. I reached behind me and grabbed the blanket. I put it on her, and went upstairs to go to bed.

Carissa's point of view
I woke up not remembering where I was. Oh yeah, I was at Kris'. Shit. My dad was going to kill me. I sat up and saw Kris was in the kitchen. I walked in there.
"Mourning." Kris smiled.
"Um. Mourning. Kris, you need to take me home my dad is going to flip."
"Relax, I called him last night. He is fine."
"Really?"
"Yes, really. Here eat some of this." he said handing me pancakes. I looked up at him and smiled.
"Thanks." He smiled back.

"We are going to leave in about twenty minutes for you to go to your place, and get packed and everything. Then I will see you at the airport."
"Okay. Don't forget I'm sitting with you."
"I won't." he said smiling.

I finished eating my pancakes, and we left to go to my house.
"Bye, see you soon." Kris said.
"Bye," I said getting out of the car. "Thanks, again."
"Anytime." he said and pulled out of the driveway.

I went upstairs, and packed some things. I called Cheyenne, just to make sure of when her flight was coming in, and went downstairs. I waited for my dad to come downstairs, and then we left.

Two

I woke up and sighed. I had to go to the rink again today, and I wasn't looking forward to it. I didn't want to face Kris. I mean, I didn't like him. At all, but I wanted to be friends with him he seemed nice. I had a bad reputation in San Antonio, and I hate to say it, but mine here wasn't starting out good.

I put on a polka-dotted tank top, a pair of ripped skinny jeans, and flip-flops. I walked downstairs and met up with my dad. We walked out to the car. "Hey." my brother said to me, that I barely saw before said to me. "Hi." I said.

We got to the arena and went into the locker room. I walked straight over to Kris' stall. But, got stopped by Max. He gave me a hug and whispered, "I'm sorry about last night." he said. "It's okay." I smiled. "Did I cause you any trouble?" he asked. "I don't know yet." I said looking over to Kris.
"I do expect to still be friends. Even if I want to be more." he said.
"Of coarse!" I said and gave him another hug.
"Okay. Well.. I'll let you fix things." he said smiling.
"Bye, Max."
"Bye." he said and walked away.

I walked over to Kris. "Hey." I said. He looked up briefly and then looked back down.
"Hey." he said in a muffled voice.
"Listen. I'm sorry about last night. I didn't mean to just leave you. And, if it helps. Max just drove me home."
"Sure you are." he looked up and smiled at me.
I laughed and punched him in the arm.
"Start over?" he asked.
"I don't know.. I kinda like how we first saw each other." I smiled joking around.
He laughed and stuck out his hand. "Kris."
"Carissa. Nice to meet you."
"Nice to meet you, too." he smiled.

"Want to come to my house after practice?" he asked.
I gave him a look and he laughed. "A bunch of the guys are going to be there."
I laughed. "Sure. Sounds good. Give me a ride?"
"Aww. Do I have to? I mean. I'm sure you can get a ride from someone else." he said trying to keep a straight face.
"Fine. I'll get Max to give me a ride." I said and started to walk away.
"See you after practice!" he yelled.
I smiled and stuck my hand up giving him some sort of a wave.

I watched practice with my brother and father. I talked to them about the team and things. They told me about what all happened in the playoffs and what went on last year, and what is happening this year. Dad and I kinda got caught up. We talked almost everyday on the phone when I was in San Antonio. But, it still wasn't the same. Dad, and I used to be really close. We still were, we were just getting used to things again. Even though we were like best friends, he still could never get me into hockey. No matter how hard he tried.

Practice seemed to go by fast and we all walked down to the locker room. I walked over to Kris and sat in the stall next to his. He was taking his gear off. "You know. I don't like hanging around stinky guys. So, you better hurry up." I said laughing. He smiled, "Got it." he said and took his stuff and went to the showers.

"Hey." Sidney said sitting next to me.
"Oh. Hey." I said.
"Who are you waiting for?"
"Kris. I'm going to his house, and I don't know where that is. So, he's giving me a ride."
"Oh. That's cool. I'm going to be there too."
"Cool. I'll see you there." I said.
"I'm going to go get a shower. So, I'll see you at Kris'."
"Okay. Bye." I said and he got up.

Kris walked out. "Ready?" he asked.
"Yeah." I said getting up, as he grabbed his bag.
We walked out to his car.

"So. Is like French your first language?" I asked once we got into his car.
"Oui. Faites-vous?"
"Okay. Yes. But, I don't remember what most of it is."
"Yeah, they probably didn't teach much French in your High School."

"Well.. It's kinda confusing. I went to a lot of different schools." I laughed.
"Where did you go to school at?" he asked.
"I lived in Minnesota forever then, I lived in Ottawa from 93-98. Which I picked up on French there. But, I forgot a lot of it since then. I lived in Nashville from 98-06. Then I moved in with my aunt in San Antonio, while my dad came here. I picked up on the southerns accent. So you can't make fun of me." I laughed.
He smiled. "I won't make fun of you. That's interesting. You have a bit of everything in you." he laughed, "Now you are going to have Pittsburgh in you."

I laughed. "Yeah. But, I think it will be harder to change now that I'm older."
"True. Just one thing."
"Yeah?"
"Don't let anyone catch you saying soda." he smiled.
I laughed. "I just call everything coke."
"Okay. That's fine. But, It will still be better if you just say pop."
"Okay. You are going to have to teach me about Pittsburgh things."
"Of coarse." he said.

"So. How did you leave all of your friends behind so many times?" he asked.
"Well.. I still have some friends from everywhere. I talk to basically one or two people from each place."
"Who?" he asked.
"In Minnesota I have Cheyenne. In Ottawa I have Aaron. San Antonio I have Lily, and." I laughed, "Chris."
"Seriously? No way." he laughed.
"Yeah. But he spells his name C-H-R-I-S."
"That's the stupid way."
"I have to admit. I like the way yours is spelled better. But, Chris and Lily are defiantly my best friends of all of them."
"Why's that?"
"I guess it's because I was older then, and I could hang out with my friends more then I could at any other place."
"Oh. I understand." he pulled up to a house. "We're here." he said.

We both got out of the car and went in. "The guys should be here in about ten minutes. Do you want something to drink?" he asked walking into the kitchen.
"What do you have?" I asked.
"Water, orange juice, milk." he laughed. "....pop."
I smiled. "Just give me whatever coke.. I mean, pop you have."
He laughed. "il vous vont." he said giving me a Pepsi.
"um.... merci?" I said.
He smiled. "Yes."
"Yah!" I yelled.

He laughed, and we heard the guys starting to come in.
"Hey. Did you invite Max?" I asked before anyone came into the kitchen.
"No. But, you can. I meant to anyways." he said before Sergei walked into the kitchen.

"Hey." Sergei said.
"Hey." Kris and I both said.
I grabbed my phone and text Max.
Hey. Come to Kris'?
Ha. Am I invited? I mean. He doesn't hate me?
lol. no. we cleared things up. he doesn't hate you. he doesn't hate me. he said you can come if you wan to. so are you?
sure. be there in a couple minutes.
cool. see you then.

"Hey. Is Max coming?" Jordan Staal asked.
"Yeah. He is."
"Good! This will be real fun then!" Ruslan said.
I laughed. "Is he the only guy you rely on for fun?" I asked.
"No. We rely on Billy Guerin, too." Tyler Kennedy said.
"Is he coming?" I said after laughing.
"I believe. He will probably come with Crosby. Those two are ialways together." Chris Kunitz said.
"Isn't that kinda a big age difference?" I asked.
"Yeah. But, those two don't care. Billy just treats Darryl like a real twenty-one year old."
"Oh. I see. Are they roommates of something?"
"Yeah. I got kicked out!" Marc-Andre yelled.
"Marc! You didn't get kicked out. Plus, you get to room with Max now." Kris said.
"Oh, yeah Tanger. Real fun." he said.

"Hey!" I heard Max yell. "You mean a lot to me too, Flower." he said walking over. He gave me a hug.
"Where's billy!" Ruslan said.
"Relax, Rusty." Max said. He shot him a look. "Fine. Tank. Calm down he's right behind me."
"Guys! Come on! Can't you two get along for two seconds?" Tyler Kennedy yelled.
"Yes, Mr. President." the both said standing up straight.
I laughed. They all had some interesting nice names.

"Yeah!" All the guys yelled, and I turned and saw Billy and Sid.
"See! Told you they would be together!" Chris said.
"Excuse me?" Sid said.
"Oh, come on. You know." Max said.
"Oh, I don't think I do, superstar."
"Oh, come on! That was a commercial!"
"We will never let you forget it." Kris said.
"Yeah, yeah." he said.

"What are we going to do?" I asked.
Everyone looked at Billy and Max. "Oh, come on. You guys are so lame! Make something up on your own!" I said.
"Wii!" Kris said.
"Yeah!" everyone yelled.

"Everyone team up!" Tyler yelled.
The teams were, Ruslan and Sergei. Jordan and Tyler. Billy and Sid, of coarse. Marc and Max. I just kinda sat back and let them pick their teams. Kris came over. "Want to be my partner?" he asked. "I really don't have a choice do I?" I said smiling.
"Well.. you don't have to play." he said. "No way! I'm playing! Yes, I'll be on your team."
He smiled and we went up.

We ended up bowling. Billy and Sid won. Sidney was so competitive. Kris and I didn't do the best. But, we weren't the worst. That was Max and Marc. I kinda laughed at that. When we were done playing we all sat down and watched TV. I sat with Max on the floor. It was kinda funny. We got yelled at for talking, so we sat there and text each other.

you know. i do really like you.
Max, i just.. don't want a boyfriend right now. i just...
relax. im fine with just being friends. i just want you to know that. plus, you aren't good for me.
what do you mean?
i hate to say this, but i'm a player. i can never stick with one girl. you should be with Kris.
What!? what do you mean?
wow. you really need to learn how to relax. i see how you and Kris are together. you two are good together. i've never seen him have as much fun as he does with you. i never knew you before, but you are probably pretty happy with him.
max, i dont know what to say. i mean. yeah. kris is a great friend. but, im not sure if there is anything more than that.
i know you dont know. but i do. he likes you. it doesnt matter if you like him or not. you dont have to like him. i just want you to know that he likes you. you two should be friends, and just see where it goes.
well.. thanks for telling me, Max. I think the show is over. so lets stop texting. lol.

Everyone left, and it was just Kris and I left. "You want to stay here a little bit more, or do you want me to take you home now?"
"Will you take me home. But, do you mind if we stop and get something to eat? I'm starving."
He laughed. "Sure." we both went out and headed to the door.

"So. Where do you want to eat?"
"Wow. You think I know?" I laughed. "I just moved here Kris. What is around here?"
"There's a Boston Market a little bit away."
"Boston Market! They don't have one of those down south! Let's eat there!" I yelled.
He smiled at me. "Good! I love Boston Market."

We soon arrived at Boston Market. We got our food, and we sat down.
"So. Tell me about yourself." I said.
"Well.. I'm a hockey player." he smiled.
"No way! I didn't know that!" I said sarcastically.
"I don't know. What do you want to know?"
"Anything."

"Okay. Well.. my favorites are. food: tacos! defiantly. Color: black and gold."
I laughed. "You are so stupid."
"Hey!" he said.
"Sorry."
"Yeah, yeah. Tell me about yourself."
"food: pancakes."
"Pancakes?"
"Yes. with.." "real maple syrup." we both said at the same time and we both laughed.
"color: blue."
"Good color."
"Thanks." I said smiling.

"So, what is there I need to know about you?" he asked me.
"Nothing, really."
"Are you staying in Pittsburgh, or are you going back to San Antonio?"
"Pittsburgh. Oh, yeah. When are you showing me around?" I asked smiling.
"Anytime, you want."
"Okay. Don't leave for 2 days. So tomorrow?"
"Sounds good. Pick you up at ten?"
"Yeah."

"Are you coming to Detroit with us?" Kris asked me once we got in the car.
"Yeah, actually. I'm going to meet up with my friend Cheyenne there."
"So. Do I get to meet her?" he asked.

"Um. Sure, if you want?"
He laughed. "Okay."

"Well.. bye." I said as he pulled up to my house.
"Bye."
"See you tomorrow."
"Yupp." I said getting out of the car and going inside.

One

My name is Carissa Shero. I am the daughter to Ray Shero. I have been living with my aunt in San Antonio, and I just recently moved with my dad. His team, the Pittsburgh Penguins are in the playoffs right now. They are in the Stanley Cup Finals? I have to be honest. I know nothing about hockey. I'm more of a basketball person. My favorite team? San Antonio Spurs. I have actually met most of them.

I was going to the rink with my father for the first time today. I was running late, so I didn't really feel like talking to anyone. I honestly think hockey players are overrated. I turned the corner to go to where my dad was and ran right into someone. I looked up. "I'm sorry." he said.
I looked back down and mumbled. "Sure you are." while I walked away.

I went up to my dad. "Hey, dad."
"Hey! Are you ready to meet the team?"
"Yeah. Sure."
"Okay. Let's go."

We walked and turned a couple turns and went into the locker room.
"Guys!" dad yelled. "I would like you to meet my daughter, Carissa. Introduce yourself, while I have a meeting." he said.
I sighed when he walked away and a ton of hockey players walked towards me.

"Hey! I'm Max." one man said. He would probably be really cute without that full beard. Even though he was still cute now. I bet a lot of these players would be cuter without a beard.
"Hi." I said back and smiled.
"Your hot." he said.
I laughed and blushed. "Thanks. Your not so bad yourself."
He smiled and walked away.

"Hey. I'm the captain. Sidney Crosby." he said sticking out his hand. I took it. "Nice to meet you." I said.
"So. Do you watch hockey?"
"No. I'm a basketball girl." I smiled. He smiled back and the next guy came over to me.

"Hey. I'm Billy Guerin. You want me to bring you around to meet everyone?"
"Sounds good." I said.
He walked over to what seemed to be the goalie.

"This is Marc-Andre."
"Nice to meet you, Marc-Andre." I said.
"Call me Marc. And, nice to meet you too. You should meet my girlfriend."
"Sounds good." I smiled. Then Billy dragged me to the next guy.

"This is Evgeni. He's shy. Well. Not really. He just doesn't know much English." he laughed.
"Okay. Nice to meet you." I said.
"You too." he said.
"He likes to joke around. You just have to pay attention." he said punching him in the shoulder.

He walked over and a guy walked up to us.
"Hey. I'm Kris. I really am sorry I ran into you earlier."
I smiled. "Well. I'm Carissa. And, it's okay. I'm sorry I was rude."
He smiled a gorgeous smiled. "That's okay."

He drug me around to all the guys.
"So. We are all having a party tonight. Would you like to come? Get to know all the guys? You could meet Marc's girlfriend too."
"Sure. That sounds fun. Is someone going to pick me up?"
"I'll pick you up." I heard Kris come up behind us.
"Okay."
"See you around seven?"
"See you then." I said and then left with my dad.

"Did you have fun?" dad asked.
"Yeah. They are all nice."
"So. Are you going to this party tonight."
"Yeah." I said.
"Be careful."
I sighed. "Yes, dad."

We got home around five, we ate and then I got dressed.
I changed into this.

And a pair of yellow flip-flops. I used to be a big party girl. But, i've changed. I still like to party. Just not all the time. I put on some make-up and went downstairs when I saw Kris pull up.
"Bye, dad!" I yelled.
"Bye." he said.

I walked out and got into Kris' car. He was staring at me. "Keep your eyes in you head, Kris." I said.
"What? Uh. Sorry." he said and pulled out of my drive-way.
I laughed. "Yeah, yeah."
"So, where is this party?" I asked.
"Um. We are going to Diesel."
"What's that? A bar?"
"Yeah. You don't anything about Pittsburgh?"
"Nope."
"Maybe I can show you around sometime."
"Sure."

He parked the car and we got out. We walked in. Marc came over and told me to sit by him and Vero. Vero was very nice, but at one point Marc and her got up and went somewhere else, so I was sitting all alone.
Max came over and sat next to me.
"So. You a big party girl?" he asked.
"What makes you say that?" I asked taking a sip of my beer.
"You just have like four beers in twenty minutes."
"I used to party all the time."
"You know... your very hot." he said.
"Thanks. But, I believe you already told me that."
"What can I say? You are just.. wow."
"Uh huh."
"Wanna dance?" he asked.
I smiled. "Yes!"
He laughed and took my hand.

We went out to the dance floor and we just started grinding. After about an hour of dancing and drinking I went to go sit down and Max followed me.
He sat down and grabbed my face, and kissed me.
I kissed him back and nibbled on his lip. He licked my lips wanted in. I agreed and parted my lips. We started full on making out. He pulled away and grabbed my hand pulling me up and leading me out the door.
"I'm drunk." I said.
"I know. That's why I'm taking you home." he smiled.

We got into his car and the car ride was silent. "Thanks for taking me home." I said when he pulled into my drive-way. "Anytime." he said and I got out of the car.
"Bye!" I said. "Bye." he said and I walked into the door.

I walked up to my room. Shit. I completely forgot about Kris. He couldn't be too mad. I mean. Why would he be? Oh well. I picked up my phone and tried calling him. He didn't pick up.
I sighed and went to sleep.
